np: Christina Aguilera - hurt
ok got home this morning after a horrible flight where my light and tv dint work. 6 hours of ipod man...100+ songs. went to see the queen with mum and sis to battle jet lag. its quite nice. i wanna watch blood diamond. who wants to watch with me??
its new years eve. star wars ep3 is on tonight and i'll prob watch it. i know i have no lifeeeeeeeee.bite me.
i dont feel too optimistic abt 2007, mainly cos 2006 was a crappy year. except for san fran and new york trips, which were the highlights. oh and of course, the new epl season in which man u has totally blossomed. i just wanna do well in school in 2007. that's all i ask.
its really really hot. i swear, i could feel my hair wilting when i stepped into the aerobridge.
aiyah i have nothing to write la. i wanna sleep, but i cant cos i wanna make sure my body clock returns to normal. |

np: U2 - still havent found what i'm looking for.
the cousins arrived last saturday. went with them to woodbury commons(again) and bought the coolest pair of roxy shoes. i'm in lurrrrrrve with them. also bought cool dockers shades in a very nice charcoal gray.
took the train up to connecticut to visit my cousin's uni. i passed yale on the way. both campuses are very pretty. i hope uni of melbourne is like this. lost my earring somewhere in connecticut which made me really wanna cry.
you know what else made me wanna cry? man u lost to west ham. !@#$%(%*^_$#*&$&^^
went to see the sights with the cousins like St Patrick's Cathedral, rockerfeller centre, times square, MoMA etc etc and had many nice dinners. wanted to go ice skating at central park but it was cold and expensive so we thought better of it.
today we woke up early to go see the statue of liberty. we had an option to pay $8 and actually get onto liberty island and stand next to the statue, but being the cheapo singaporeans that we all are, we took the FREE staten island ferry that passes the statue and took like 395628 pictures. at staten island, if you wanna get on the ferry back to manhatten, you have to alight walk one big round to the terminal, stand in line and get on again. instead of doing this, we, being horrible delinquents, walked to the corner and when we saw the ppl starting to get on, ran back to join the mass of ppl getting on the ferry, escaping the security guard's notice in the meantime. it was funny.
tonight my uncle and one cousin are going home and after that, i'm gonna watch my dad's hotel basketball team play. exciting stuff. hope everyone else is having an entertaining life, and 11/05, i hope ya'll have a great christmas party!

np: the fray - how to save a life
ok one reason why i wish i were back in singapore? because i NEED to watch some football. i've got major withdrawal symptoms ok??? i missed the manc derby AND chelsea vs arsenal. AND i dint know til this morning that alan curbishley is the new manager of west ham. let me tell you how football news goes in the US. in the paper, the match report on the chelsea wigan game was the size of my handphone. seriously that's how short the article is. and today, there was no football news AT ALL. unbelievable. i feel so out of the loop. and its kinda killin me. but other than that i'm loving new york as much as ever.
went to central park zoo yesterday. its nothing like singapore zoo but then again its much tinier. i love sealions can i just say that. they were so cute la. my sis was in charge of the cam so she took lots and lots of pics. my new fave animal: colobus monkeys. if you want, you can go see the pics on her blog. we were monkeying around in the gift shop as well. like taking pics with soft toys and puppets. not very mature but who cares.
i painted my toenails a wonderful red colour. they look very pretty. its unfortunate that its not summer and i have to cover my feet all the time when i go out.
watched return of the king with my dad last night. explaining the story to him and all. he kept shouting at frodo and sam: STOP LOOKING AT EACH OTHER AND FASTER GO AND DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!!! or something like that la. it was quite funny. speaking of my father, he's lost like 11 kg i think. he's looking pretty darn good.
and can i just say something about the guys in this city. even the average looking new york guy is tons better looking than 99% of tj boys. like the customs guy, the guy at the pharmacy, the policemen outside the church, the guy at the toystore, the waiter at the italian restaurant last night etc etc etc...random guys walking on the street basically, they're ALL BETTER LOOKING!!!! its very strange.
the best thing about living in a hotel when its winter: UNLIMITED HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER BAYBEEEEEEEEEE!!!
the average length of my bath nowadays: 30-45 minutes. 1 hour if i'm washing my hair. its just so nice to stand under the scalding spray, knowing that it'll never end, and come out 30 minutes later, red and wrinkled with the air all misty. i love it. too bad if i do this in singapore i'll die from heat stroke.
i wish i could go out today. the weather's beautiful. but the cousins are coming so i must stay in and wait for them. |

it''s 830 am in new york city, and normally i'd be sleeping, but i went to bed early last night, and even i cant sleep for more than 10 or 11 hours. anyway, i havent blogged in a while cos i've been waiting to get my own laptop and then the internet connection in my hotel room screwed up. so now, all is well: i've got my own laptop and although the internet only works in my dad's room, it works nonetheless. my laptop looks as sturdy as a nuclear suitcase. like if you throw it against the wall, the wall will crack and the com will continue functioning as tho nothing has happened. and the screen is so wide, i think i'm gonna spend all my time watching movies online. not too great for my education. i love my laptop very much. now if only i could find a nice picture of gisele bundchen to put as my desktop.
speaking of gisele bundchen, my sis and i went to victoria's secret that day. i tell you that place is heaven on earth. it has the prettiest underwear on this planet. anyone who knows me will know i detest shopping unless its for jeans or underwear. i swear i was in heaven. tho i dint buy anything other than a nice bag, and something else which i wont mention here, it was so nice to just look around, test the perfumes, look at makeup etc etc.
walked to old navy the other day, still privately bemoaning the fact that since its winter, they dont sell my polo tees anymore. did however, find 40 bucks worth of stuff to buy. interesting conversation with cashier follows.
cashier: would you like to get an old navy discount card?
me: er, i dont live in new york, so it would be quite useless, thanks anyway.
cashier: where are you from?
me: singapore
cashier: ohhhhh! NI HOW MA???
me:(laughing) HOW.
cashier:*says something else in chinese*
me: er actually, i dont really speak mandarin, i only know a little bit.
i got 6 pairs of earrings at forever21 for SIX DOLLARS. and a very nice bra from H&M for 13 bucks. the only thing that is not cheap here is shoes.
havent been out the last 2 days cos it was cold. but i really wanna see central park zoo and rockerfeller centre soon. and the cousins are coming tmr. so hopefully, life becomes even more entertaining.

hello world. am currently sitting in a hotel room in nyc stuffed full of room service pancakes and cappuccino. seriously you would think i would be able to eat 3 pancakes but all the food in US comes in such big portions that even a pig like me cant finish it without wanting to vomit.
landed on saturday morning. the customs ppl are very nice here. the immigration officer had extremely pretty eyes. actually i think they're nice to us cos my sis and i dont exactly look threatening. they asked us stupid things like what are you studying in school and do you know where your father works. HA!!
missed the manchester derby cos i was 10000km up in the air, but man u won 3-1, saha ronaldo rooney. YAY!!
first day was cold cold cold. and i was jet lagged. went to hotel. went out walking to check out where the OLD NAVY is. they dont sell my polo tees anymore dammit. now they sell winter stuff. which means i wont be able to buy jonny's polo tee. sorry jon.
went to a jap restaurant for dinner. i couldnt finish my food as usual. seriously, everything is so big you just dont feel like eating after a while. it gets tiring to chew. made the mistake of only wearing one sweater when i went for dinner. i was shivering and my teeth were chattering after 2 minutes outside. can you imagine? bloody freezing.
came home and just crashed. next day, which was yesterday, we went to woodbury common, which is this place in upstate new york. its a huge compound with all sorts of designer brand factory outlet shops. hence, prices are lower and sometimes they even have discounts on the lower prices. got a winter coat for 80 bucks. usual price- something like 250.
bought a coat, 3 sweaters, levi's jeans(25 US DOLLARS PPL!!!) lots of pretty underwear, a beanie, socks, a fossil watch (8 US DOLLARS FOR A FOSSIL WATCH!) and my shoppin total came to just under a hundred bucks. omg seriously its heaven. last time when my dad lived in the US (approx 10 yrs ago) the prices were even lower, but due to the influx of jap tourists, prices have gone up. ah well. you'd never get deals like this in sgp, so i'm happy.
gotta bathe now, then my sis and i are gonna try and find old navy on our own.ok mtv here is quite interesting. lots of funny reality shows. but the other channels sorta suck. lots of trashy tv. |

np: tyler hilton - when it comes
so yesterday was the dreaded prom. went to buy my suitcase and eat tandoori chicken in the aft and took a nap til 5. got ready blah blah, left for fullerton at 7. camwhored for like 45 mins, had dinner(which was not bad) camwhored somemore, listened to the band (which had a cute drummer, who's mat's friend!! GAH!), sniggered at the prom king/queen contest, went to the toilet 20 or so times, camwhored more, cursed at the emcee. it ran over til midnight...when nav, shing, shaz and i figured out that there wasnt gonna be a dance floor, we made for attica. I SAW XUNNYYYYYYYYY!! yay, and finally met desmond...yippee.
made friends with the bouncer and the owner/manager, who for some reason gave us 3 free jugs of booze and his card. you know why it was free, cos it sucked!! i think it was tequila(tho im obviously no expert), which i dont really like. but he gave us 3 free jugs!! and he called us his girls. er right...and now if we dress up and go on wed/fri/sat, clifford says he'll def get us in....ya i bet if i go back tonight he wont rmb me. finally met karn as well..he's a sweetie pie. with rattan shoes. hurhur. but he's very nice. i like him. *stamp of approval*
somebody else likes him too. HA.
some guy asked nav if she was from bollywood. heehee. that was funny. ya so anyway, after awhile the party was packed and we danced for 2 solid hours. music sucked at first but became really good towards the end. all in all, a good party.
left around 3 to make it home in time for man u vs benfica. 3-1 to the reds. 3 great headers, 3 pts, group winners. vidic is manly.
my eyeshadow is being very stubborn, one of my nails is chipped and my hair smells of cigarettes. and i havent packed for the 3 weeks of freezing new york city winter. but its all good cos man u are in the second round of the champions league!!!!!!

man u beat boro. nervy game. but a win nonetheless...couldnt watch the first part as i was at my uncle's bday get together, where my mother *ALLOWED* me to drink alcohol. WOMAN I AM 18 EVEN IF YOU DINT ALLOW ME I WOULD HAVE DRUNK ANYWAY.
ok obviously i'm not in the best of moods.
wanna know WHY? today i spent 2.5 hours waiting at the indian embassy, so i could talk to the woman at the counter for 5 minutes and give her my passport and visa application. i swear to GOD the system there is so effed up.
went to collect sand's erm...thing...from her friend. finished OC season 3 and prison break season 1.
was supposed to watch hard candy with sand and nav tonight but nav cancelled...and sand's out with jaaf...or was it anita or both...summat like that. so i shall indulge in a little ball-removal all by my lonesome tonight.
prom on wed. i dunno why i wasted 83 bucks. all i wanna do is go to the afterparty. 18 vs 83...i dunno why it was even a contest. plus the 200 odd i spent on my outfit. bah humbug!!
leaving for NYC in approx 100 hours babyyyyyyyyy.....tho i wish i could postpone it for a while. i've got stuff to take care of at home.
